PHA activated human lymphocytes
Specificity:
Binds to the human CD39 cell surface antigen an 80kD molecule expressed on peripheral blood B cells monocytes and T cell clones. CD39 is also weakly expressed on granulocytes. CD39 has intrinsic ecto-ATPase activity. Expression of CD39 is induced on T cells and increased on B cells as a late activation antigen. This antibody has been shown to block MHC independent target cell recognition by hapten-specific CTL. is recommended for this purpose (8). Recommended Negative Controls: MOUSE IgG1 NEGATIVE CONTROL:FITC
Function:
In the nervous system could hydrolyze ATP and other nucleotides to regulate purinergic neurotransmission. Could also be implicated in the prevention of platelet aggregation. Hydrolyzes ATP and ADP equally well. Ref. 9Catalytic activityATP + 2 H2O = AMP + 2 phosphate. Cofactor: Calcium. Magnesium. Subunit structureHomodimer; disulfide-linked By similarity. Subcellular locationMembrane; Multi-pass membrane protein Potential. Tissue specificityExpressed primarily on activated lymphoid cells. Also expressed in endothelial tissues. The vascular isoform and the placental isoform II are present in both placenta and umbilical vein whereas placental isoform I is present in placenta only. Post-translational modificationThe N-terminus is blocked. Palmitoylated in the N-terminal part. Ref. 11Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the GDA1/CD39 NTPase family. Biophysicochemical properties pH dependence:Optimum pH is 7. 0-7. 5 with ATP as substrate and 7. 5-8. 0 with ADP as substrate. 1. Oppermann M. et al.
