Genway ID:
GWB-3D2207
Isotype:
IgG
Immunogen:
Synthetic peptide (Human) N term.
Antigen Species:
Human
Specificity:
The antibody specifically binds to MMP27 and does not cross react with the other MMP family members (MMP1 MMP2 MMP3 MMP9 etc. ).
Target:
MMP27
Localization:
Cell Membrane/Secreted
Concentration:
1 mg/ml
Purification Note:
Affinity isolated antigen specific antibody is obtained from rabbit anti-MMP27 antiserum by immuno-specific purification which removes essentially all rabbit serum proteins including immunoglobulins which do not specifically bind to the peptide. Storage
Preservative:
0. 05% Sodium Azide; Constituents: 50% Glycerol PBS
Application Note:
WB: Use at a dilution of 1/1000. A starting dilution of 1/5000 is recommended for chemiluminescent substrates.
Note:
Higher antibody dilutions may be necessary for non-human samples. By immunoblotting against the reduced protein the antibody identifies bands at 74 kDa and 58 kDa as well as bands at 53 kDa and 50 kDa. The larger band may possibly represent an alternatively spliced form of MMP27. The antibody specifically binds to MMP27 and does not cross react with the other MMP family members (MMP1 MMP2 MMP3 MMP9 etc. ). Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. Cellular
Localization:
Cell Membrane/Secreted Proteins of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes such as embryonic development reproduction and tissue remodeling as well as in disease processes such as arthritis and metastasis. Most MMP\' s are secreted as inactive proproteins which are activated when cleaved by extracellular proteinases.
Function:
Matrix metalloproteinases degrade protein components of the extracellular matrix such as fibronectin laminin gelatins and/or collagens (By similarity). Cofactor: Binds 4 calcium ions per subunit (By similarity). Cofactor: Binds 2 zinc ions per subunit (By similarity).
Subcellular Location:
Secreted extracellular space extracellular matrix (By similarity).
Tissue Specificity:
Expressed in B-cells.
Domain:
The conserved cysteine present in the cysteine-switch motif binds the catalytic zinc ion thus inhibiting the enzyme. The dissociation of the cysteine from the zinc ion upon the activation-peptide release activates the enzyme.
Similarity:
Belongs to the peptidase M10A family [view classification].
Similarity:
Contains 4 hemopexin-like domains.
