This antibody reacts with the MUC2 gene product a secretory apomucin found in a variety of normal and neoplastic human glandular epithelia.

For IHC-Fr: Use at 1:50-1:200. For IHC-P: Use at 1:50-1:200. Prolonged fixation in buffered formalin can destroy the epitope. We recommend using streptavidin-Biotin system or polymer system for best results. The optimal conditions should be determined by the individual laboratory. Mucin 2 oligomeric mucus/gel-forming also known as MUC2 is a human intestinal mucin gene. This gene is expressed in colon small intestine colonic tumors bronchus cervix gall bladder and possibly other tissues. Mucins are high molecular weight glycoproteins having oligosaccharides attached to serine or threonine residue of the apomucin protein backbone by O-glycosidic linkages.
