Genway ID:

Immunogen:
Highly purified human alpha-amylase
Specificity:
This antiserum is determined to be immunospecific for human a-amylase found in human saliva and human pancreatic extract by Ouchterlony double diffusion and immunoelectrophoresis. No reaction with other human saliva proteins or pancreatic proteins is observed. Background: Amylase catalyses the hydrolysis of internal 1 4-glucan links in large linear polymers at internal bonds. The enzyme is present in all living organisms with variable enzymatic activity.
Positive Control:
Pancreas
Target:
alpha Amylase
Note:
Do not dilute the entire solution at once. Withdraw aliquots as needed with a micropipette and keep concentrated stock at 4C. Dilute according to the particular application being used. In general the 0. 05M borate pH 8. 0 containing 0. 15M sodium chloride 0. 02% sodium azide is a good dilutent to use with most antibodies. When diluting for immunohistochemistry ELISA or western blot make the dilution in Primary Antibody Diluting Buffer. Avoid diluting the entire contents of the vial at once the diluted solution may have reduced stability. Storage
Buffer:
Phosphate-buffered saline pH 7. 2 containing 0. 05% sodium azide
Application Note:
For IHC-Fr: Use at 1:100-1:150. For IHC-P: Use at 1:100-1:150. Prolonged fixation in buffered formalin can destroy the epitope. For WB: Use at 1:200-1:500. For ELISA: Use at 1:500-1:1000. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. Some researchers have sucessfully used this product in IE immunodiffusion and precipitation but has not yet been tested in house.
Catalytic Activity:
Endohydrolysis of (1-& gt; 4)-alpha-D-glucosidic linkages in oligosaccharides and polysaccharides. Cofactor: Binds 1 calcium ion per subunit. Cofactor: Binds 1 chloride ion per subunit.
Subunit:
Monomer.
Subcellular Location:
Secreted.
Similarity:
Belongs to the glycosyl hydrolase 13 family [view classification].
