Genway ID:
GWB-916AED
Specificity:
GAPDH (N-TERMINAL)
Isotype:
Polyclonal IgGSpecies Cross Reactivity: Reacts with: Mouse RatN. B. Antibody reactivity and working conditions may vary between species.
Buffer Solution:
Phosphate buffered saline
Preservative Stabilisers:
0. 02% Sodium Azide (NaN3)Approx. Protein Concentrations: IgG concentration 1. 0mg/ml
Immunogen:
A peptide corresponding to a 16 amino acid sequence from near the amino-terminus of GAPDH.
Specificity:
Recognises human glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH). GAPDH is a major glycolytic enzyme within the cytosol which is also involved in a number of intracellular processes including membrane fusion microtubule bundling phosphotransferase DNA replication and DNA repair. Recent studies have suggested that GAPDH may be involved in the cellular phenotype of age-related neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer\' s and Huntington\' s disease. Recommended Secondary Antibodies: Sheep Anti Rabbit IgGGoat Anti Rabbit IgG (Fc)Goat Anti Rabbit IgG (H/L)
Function:
Independent of its glycolytic activity it is also involved in membrane trafficking in the early secretory pathway. Ref. 22Catalytic activityD-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate + phosphate + NAD+ = 3-phospho-D-glyceroyl phosphate + NADH.
Pathway:
Carbohydrate degradation; glycolysis; pyruvate from D-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate: step 1/5. Subunit structureHomotetramer. Interacts with TPPP; the interaction is direct By similarity. Interacts with EIF1AD USP25 PRKCI and WARS. Ref. 22Ref. 24Ref. 27Ref. 36Ref. 38Ref. 39Subcellular locationCytoplasm. Cytoplasm & rsaquo; perinuclear region. Membrane.
Note:
Postnuclear and Perinuclear regions. Ref. 23Post-translational modificationReversible S-nitrosylation of Cys-152 inhibits enzymatic activity and increases endogenous ADP-ribosylation which inhibits the enzyme in a non-reversible manner. The latter modification is more likely to be a pathophysiological event associated with inhibition of gluconeogenesis By similarity. ISGylated Probable. Ref. 28Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase family. Sequence cautionThe sequence described in Ref. 16 differs from that shown.
