Specificity:
MCM6NCBI
Gene ID:
4175
Specificity:
MCM6
Immunogen:
Synthetic peptide corresponding to a region within human MCM6 (locus link ID 4175)
Specificity Note:
This product is specific for human minichromosome maintenance deficient 6 (MCM6). MCM6 is involved in the initiation and control of eukaryotic DNA replication. Studies show that MCM4 forms a hexameric protein complex with MCM6 and 7 which has DNA helicase activity and may act as a DNA unwinding enzyme. The phosphorylation of this complex by CDC2 kinase reduces the DNA helicase activity and chromatin binding of the MCM complex.
Antiserum Preparation:
Antisera to human MCM6 were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography.
Buffer Solution:
TRIS-citrate/phosphate pH7. 5
Preservative Stabilisers:
0. 09%Sodium AzideSuggested
Dilution:
Western Blot: This product detects a band of approximately 105 kDa in Hela cell lysates. Suggested
Dilution:
Western Blotting - 1:2000 - 1:10000 Summary: The protein encoded by this gene is one of the highly conserved mini-chromosome maintenance proteins (MCM) that are essential for the initiation of eukaryotic genome replication. The hexameric protein complex formed by the MCM proteins is a key component of the pre-replication complex (pre_RC) and may be involved in the formation of replication forks and in the recruitment of other DNA replication related proteins. The MCM complex consisting of this protein and MCM2 4 and 7 proteins possesses DNA helicase activity and may act as a DNA unwinding enzyme. The phosphorylation of the complex by CDC2 kinase reduces the helicase activity suggesting a role in the regulation of DNA replication.
