SRC3
Immunogen:
Synthetic peptide corresponding to a region within human SRC3 encoded by exon 16.
Specificity Note:
This product is specific for human nuclear SRC3 (steroid receptor coactivator 3) also known as NCOA3 AIB1 and p/CIP. SRC3 is a member of the steroid receptor coactivator family members which interact with nuclear receptors and enhance the transcription of target genes in a ligand-dependent manner. SRC3 has been shown to interact with several steroid receptors such as oestrogen receptor alpha and progesterone receptor. Overexpression of SRC3 has been reported in a number of cancers including breast cancer. In addition SRC3 has recently been shown to interact with IKK suggesting that SRC3 may be involved in inflammatory and immune responses mediated by NF-kappaB.
Antiserum Preparation:
Antisera to human SRC3 were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared by affinity chromatography.
Buffer Solution:
Tris-citrate/phosphate buffer pH7-8

Dilution:
Immunoprecipitation - 1ug/mg protein - 4ug/mg protein
Similarity:
Contains 1 basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) domain. Summary: The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear receptor coactivator that interacts with nuclear hormone receptors to enhance their transcriptional activator functions. The encoded protein has histone acetyltransferase activity and recruits p300/CBP-associated factor and CREB binding protein as part of a multisubunit coactivation complex. This protein is initially found in the cytoplasm but is translocated into the nucleus upon phosphorylation. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. In addition a polymorphic repeat region is found in the C-terminus of the encoded protein.
