Antigen Species:
Human
Specificity:
The antibody recognizes an unique epitope on CD11a antigen (LFA-1 alpha chain) implicated in activation of LFA-1 complex.
Target:
CD11a
Localization:
Cell Membrane and Plasma membrane
Concentration:
1 mg/ml

Phosphate buffered saline pH 7. 4 containing 15mM sodium azide
Application Note:
FACS: Use at an assay dependant concentration. FuncS: Use at an assay dependant concentration. Induces high-affinity conformation of LFA-1. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. Cellular
Localization:
Cell Membrane and Plasma membrane CD11a is a glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 26 kDa expressed in combination with the CD18 beta chain. The complex is a member of the beta2 integrin family. These molecules function in cell adhesion and specifically bind to CD54 ICAM-2 ICAM-3. CD11a is expressed on lymphocytes granulocytes monocytes and macrophages and is upregulated on activated T-cells. Anti-CD11a from I21/7 reacts with 97% of thymocytes 95% of blood lymphocytes 70% of bone marrow cells of all mouse strains tested.
Function:
Integrin alpha-L/beta-2 is a receptor for ICAM1 ICAM2 ICAM3 and ICAM4. It is involved in a variety of immune phenomena including leukocyte-endothelial cell interaction cytotoxic T-cell mediated killing and antibody dependent killing by granulocytes and monocytes.
Subunit:
Heterodimer of an alpha and a beta subunit. Alpha-L associates with beta-2.
Subcellular Location:
Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.
Tissue Specificity:
Leukocytes.
Domain:
The integrin I-domain (insert) is a VWFA domain. Integrins with I-domains do not undergo protease cleavage.
Similarity:
Belongs to the integrin alpha chain family.
Similarity:
Contains 7 FG-GAP repeats.
Similarity:
Contains 1 VWFA domain.
