Clone:
HHF35
Isotype:
IgG1
Immunogen:
Muscle actin purified from human myocardium
Antigen Species:
Human
Specificity:
Recognises muscle specific actin a 42kD protein specific for actin present in skeletal cardiac and smooth muscle. Clone HHF35 is specific for alpha actin and does not recognise beta actin. This antibody may be useful in the study of tumours arising from these muscle cells such as rhabdomyosarcomas leiomyomas and leiomyosarcomas.
Positive Control:
Skeletal tissue
Target:
Actin smooth muscle
Concentration:
tissue culture supernatant
Purification Note:
Hybridoma culture supernatant Storage
Buffer:
TCS containing PBS 1% BSA and 0. 09% sodium azide
Application Note:
For IHC-Fr: Use this product at 1:10-1:40. For IHC-P: Use this product at 1:10-1:40. This product does not require protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections. This product does not require antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the researcher.
Function:
Actins are highly conserved proteins that are involved in various types of cell motility and are ubiquitously expressed in all eukaryotic cells.
Subunit:
Polymerization of globular actin (G-actin) leads to a structural filament (F-actin) in the form of a two-stranded helix. Each actin can bind to 4 others.
Subcellular Location:
Cytoplasm cytoskeleton.
Miscellaneous:
In vertebrates 3 main groups of actin isoforms alpha beta and gamma have been identified. The alpha actins are found in muscle tissues and are a major constituent of the contractile apparatus. The beta and gamma actins coexist in most cell types as components of the cytoskeleton and as mediators of internal cell motility.
Similarity:
Belongs to the actin family.
