This detects skeletal muscle myosin specifically the fast twitch (type II) isomyosin molecules of the heavy chain of human or animal myosin.

For IHC-Fr: Use at an assay dependent dilution. For IHC-P: Use at a dilution of 1:5 - 1:15. Not tested in other applications. Optimal concentrations/dilutions should be determined by the researcher. *This product does not require protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections. This product does not require antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Myosin is the main constituent of the thick filaments of muscle fibres. Myosin acts with actin in the contraction and relaxation of muscles. This antibody detects skeletal muscle myosin specifically the fast twitch (type II) isomyosin molecules of the heavy chain of human or animal myosin.

Muscle myosin is a hexameric protein that consists of 2 heavy chain subunits (MHC) 2 alkali light chain subunits (MLC) and 2 regulatory light chain subunits (MLC-2).

The rodlike tail sequence is highly repetitive showing cycles of a 28-residue repeat pattern composed of 4 heptapeptides characteristic for alpha-helical coiled coils.
