Immunogen:	Synthetic peptide corresponding to aa 465-481 of the ? subunit of rat type I voltage-gated sodium channel. Voltage-gated sodium channels (VGSC) are present in most excitable cells. In neuronal tissue they are responsible for generating and propagating action potentials. Brain VGSCs are heteromers of ab1b2 Subunits. Of these the ? subunit forms the channel pore. VGSC have been implicated in numerous neurological and cardiac disorders.
