PHOSPHORYLASE B
Isotype:
Polyclonal IgG
Preparation:
Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography on Protein G
Buffer Solution:
Phosphate buffered saline
Preservative Stabilisers:
0. 09% Sodium Azide (NaN3)Approx. Protein Concentrations: IgG concentration 5. 0mg/ml
Immunogen:
Native from muscle
Specificity:
Recognises phosphorylase B a catalytic protein with a predicted molecular weight of 125 kDa localized in the cytoplasm and cell membrane. In skeletal muscle phosphorylase occurs in two forms phosphorylase A and phosphorylase B. Phosphorylase A is the more active of the two forms and has a higher molecular weight. The two forms are interconvertable. Phosphorylase B catalyzes the phosphorylation of serine residues in various substrates including troponin I. 7370-9808G shows high cross reactivity (> 95%) with phosphorylase A in ELISA. Recommended Secondary Antibodies: Rabbit Anti Sheep IgG (H/L)Donkey Anti Sheep IgG
Function:
Phosphorylase b kinase catalyzes the phosphorylation of serine in certain substrates including troponin I. The beta chain acts as a regulatory unit and modulates the activity of the holoenzyme in response to phosphorylation. Enzyme regulationBy phosphorylation of various serine residues.
Pathway:
Glycan biosynthesis; glycogen metabolism. Subunit structurePolymer of 16 chains four each of alpha beta gamma and delta. Alpha and beta are regulatory chains gamma is the catalytic chain and delta is calmodulin. Subcellular locationCell membrane; Lipid-anchor; Cytoplasmic side Potential. Post-translational modificationCys-1090 is farnesylated but the terminal tripeptide is not removed and the cysteine carboxyl is not methylated. Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the phosphorylase b kinase regulatory chain family. 1. Yoshino N. et al.
