Description	Gold Agar is a food grade agar extracted from selected red seaweeds of the type Gelidium from different origins. Agar-agar is a polysaccharide, consisting primarily of D- and L-galactose units. About every tenth D-galactopyranose unit contains a sulphate ester group. Gold Agar meets the Directive of the European Community (EEC) with an applicable EEC number E-406, as well as the specifications of the U.S. Food Chemical Codex (FCC)
