Description: Dopamine HCl (formerly Intropin; Dopamine HCl; ASL 279; ASL279; P 498; 3-Hydroxytyramine, ASL-279 and Intropin), the hydrochloride salt of dopamine, is an endogenous catecholamine neurotransmitter found in a wide variety of animals, it is a dopamine D1-5 receptors agonist. Dopamine HCl is a major catecholamine neurotransmitter derived from the amino acid tyrosine and serves as the precursor to norepinephrine and epinephrine. Dopamine activates a variety of dopamine receptors and is known to increase heart rate.
