Segesterone acetate and ethinyl estradiol vaginal system was approved by FDA in August 2018 as new vaginal ring used to prevent pregnancy for an entire year. As a female-contraceptive agent, Segesterone holds back proinflammatory mediators and neuropathology in the wobbler mouse model of motoneuron degeneration.
