PuroMAG™ Plasmid Miniprep Plus Kit, 5 Preps Trial Kit

The PuroMAG™ Plasmid Miniprep Kit is designed to provide a simple and easy-to-use method for extraction and purification of plasmid DNA from cultured bacterial cells using silica-coated magnetic beads.

This purification technology is based on plasmid binding to silica coated magnetic beads, which allows for efficient removal of genomic DNA, protein, salt, and other contaminants. Silica-based purification provides a faster, simpler, and safer alternative to traditional nucleic acid purification techniques such as phenol-chloroform extraction.

The PuroSPIN™ Plasmid Miniprep Plus Kit is designed to provide a simple and easy-to-use method for extraction and purification of plasmid DNA from cultured bacterial cells. The PuroSPIN™ buffer formulations produce highly purified plasmid DNA for downstream applications.

In comparison to our standard PuroSPIN™ Plasmid Miniprep Kit, the Plus kit adds an additional filtration step that removes the precipitated SDS-protein complexes, genomic DNA, carbohydrates and other contaminants from the lysate before loading it onto the silica spin column. This prevents contaminating materials from binding to and blocking parts of the silica membrane, leading to an increased plasmid DNA yield and higher purity of the final product. This is particularly benficial when workign with large samples that contain a lot of starting material that needs to be processed.

The PuroMAG™ buffer formulations produce highly purified plasmid DNA for downstream applications such as transfection, enzymatic digestion, or PCR.

This kit offers various throughput applications using a manual magnetic rack or automated purification systems.

8-Position Mini Magnetic Rack (Cat# MGR-008) and 16-Position Mini Magnetic Rack (Cat# MGR-016) can be used for fast and convenient manual purification of up to 16 samples of plasmid DNA.

High-throughput protocols have been optimized for Auto-Pure Nucleic Acid Purification systems, but can be adapted for other purification systems (i.e. Kingfisher Flex, Hamilton Microlab STAR, Biomek FX, etc.).
