Genomic DNAs are isolated from over 100 different human and fetal normal tissues, human diseased and tumor tissues, mouse, rat, monkey, and plant tissues. Our genomic DNAs are provided ready to use for SNP analysis, Southern Blotting, and PCR. United States Biological offers almost any genomic DNAs from human, mouse, rat, monkey, and plant tissues; no longer will you need to acquire tissues and isolate genomic DNA by yourself.

Genomic DNA is isolated by proprietary modified guanidine thiocyanate techniques.

Quality Control:
1. The quality and purity of genomic DNA were tested by spectrophotometer and electrophoresis. A260/280 is between 1.8-2.0. (Detected in TE, pH 8.0)
2. RNAse treatment to ensure there is no RNA contamination.
3. Genomic DNA was successfully digested by Hind III.
4. A specific fragment of actin gene, ~800bp, was successfully amplified from the genomic DNA.

Suitable for use in SNP analysis, Southern Blot, PCR Genomic DNA library construction, Profiling study in gene expression.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Note: Though some of Small Size Genomic DNA can be used for southern blot analysis, we strongly recommend customers use our Genomic DNA product line for southern blot studies. All plant genomic DNA concentration was measured by pico green method to assure the true quantity. Due to the characteristics of plant genomic DNA, the concentration measured by UV is about 4 times more than the true value.
