BioTeZ

Biotez

Biotez Berlin-Buch GmbH  is a company focused on biotechnological research and products. In 1992, it was founded at the campus of the Berlin bio-medical research in Berlin-Buch (today: Biotech Park Berlin-Buch). They are partners of biotechnological research, pharmaceutical industry and lab analysis for innovation and quality.

Their business portfolio includes:

  • Biotin-Streptavidin-Binding
  • Oligos / Primer
  • Affinity Chromatography
  • ELISA Technologies
  • Therapeutic Drug Monitoring
  • Human Proteases

Streptavidin is a tetrameric protein (4 x 13 kDa), which binds very tightly to the small molecule Biotin. The binding constant for this interaction is very high (Ka ~ 1013 M-1) and turns the Streptavidin/Biotin system into a basis of many biochemical applications. Streptavidin-coated surfaces are characterised by very low nonspecific bindings. Streptavidin coating of solid phases offers a universal immobilization principle for the detection and analysis of proteins, peptides, PCR-fragments, haptens etc.

Why use streptavidin-coated microplates and Polystrept R with lateral flow test stripes?

  • Convenient method for a uniform and stable immobilization of biotinylated molecules
  • Immobilization of Biomolecules on solid phases in a directed manner, while avoiding or minimizing denaturation
  • Ready-to-use, no washing or blocking steps required
  • High signal-to-noise ratio
  • Low nonspecific binding
  • Long shelf life
  • Lower reagent consumption (see table below) and especially enormous cost savings with lateral flow test stripes

The chemical synthesis of DNA oligonucleotides (DNA Primers) has a long tradition at BioTeZ. For 20 years, they are dealing with technology to synthesize DNA sequences. As a research-intensive company, they have a fine grasp on the client’s requirements concerning oligos / primer in order to make experiments and applications successful and efficient. Many satisfied customers rely on their oligos and use them for a broad spectrum of different applications.

For clean up, enrichment or separation of mycotoxins immunoaffinity columns with highly effective antibodies is the remedy of choice. Proven a million times, even in complex matrices reliable results.

BioTeZ has an own technology for coupling antibodies to secure high binding capacities and a wide working range. BioTeZ is producing customized affinity columns of any size based on different ligands.

BioTeZ has been specialized in mycotoxin and vitamin analysis within the field of food and feed analysis for more than 10 years now. They are experts in immunoaffinity columns (IAC) and in ELISAs.

Mycotoxins are fungal toxins and occur either in the growth phase of plants, when storing food and raw materials such as cereals and nuts, or they can enter the food chain as metabolites.

The highly-toxic mycotoxins endanger the human organism and that of other vertebrates and must be kept distant from the food chain. They have a carcinogenic, neurotoxic, immunsuppressive or mutagenic effect. The EU has enacted regulations governing permissible levels of mycotoxins which may not be exceeded. There are comparable regulations to protect the public in industrial countries such as the US and Japan. Careful analyses contribute towards ensuring food quality and health.

BioTeZ produces its own highly effective IAC series “B-TeZ” to determine mycotoxin contaminations. These products have been proven for many years. The IAC have excellent flow behavior and are extremely robust, guaranteeing easy enrichment and isolation of mycotoxins using highly-specific monoclonal antibodies. They offer ready-to-use IAC in two sizes (1 ml and 3 ml), furthermore multi toxin colums, e.g. Aflatoxin, Ochratoxin and Zearalenon. Additionally available Fumonisin, T2/HT2, DON (Deoxynivalenol) and Aflatoxin M1 in standard columns or customized columns. They also offer combi columns Afla-Ochra; Afla-Ochra-Zearalenon; DON-Zearalenon and Estradiol columns.

Therapeutic Drug Monitoring / Companion Diagnostic

Until now during the course of biologics therapy it was difficult or even impossible to reliably measure the harmful free target molecule after the initial administration of medication, and so these treatments could not be individually dosed. recoveryELISA® fills this diagnostic gap and can help to monitor the effectiveness of a drug dose and the effect of its variation and the formation of anti-drug antibodies, identify the non-responder, or to verify whether the therapeutic objective has been achieved.  recoveryELISA® also supports dose finding studies, pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic (pk/pd) studies, or personalized medicine as well as preclinical drug development and drug design. recoveryELISA® is the ideal diagnostic tool for therapeutic antibody development, for the design of antibodies and comparable biologics, or for detecting subgroups with therapeutic failures or therapeutic successes. The patented recoveryELISA® principle allows to measure full antibody antigen interaction / drug efficiency simply by spiking samples only with antigen. Further, the recoveryELISA® technology measures the concentration of the therapeutic antibody without an anti-drug antibody. This makes the recoveryELISA® so easy!
