Nanovex Biotechnologies SL is an innovative technology-based spin-off from the University of Oviedo founded in 2014 that provides a wide range of services and products in the nanobiotechnology field.

The company works in the design and development of different nanovesicles, nanocapsules and inorganic nanoparticles for multiple applications.

They offer different kind of services (Encapsulation, characterization, bioconjugation and exosome characterization) and products, like:

Pronanosomes:

Pronanosomes are ready-to-use formulations to obtain nanovesicles, in a fast and easy way, able to encapsulate a wide range of compounds such as hydrophilic and lipophilic molecules, peptides, proteins,…

Nanovex Biotechnologies offers different Pronanosomes to obtain nanovesicles with different characteristics. The main advantages of Pronanosomes are:

Easy and fast nanoencapsulation of a wide range of compounds, easy size control and great stability.

Nanoparticles:

Streptavidin conjugated SPHERICAL gold, silver and alloyed gold-silver nanoparticles that can be used in many applications such as protein conjugation, western blot/dot blot, immunohistochemistry, lateral flow assays, ELISA, electron microscopy or dark field microscopy

Alloyed Gold-Silver Nanoparticles are a good alternative to conventional silver nanoparticles. They have optical properties similar to silver nanoparticles, but showing the stability and size control features of classical gold nanoparticles. They are available in 40 nm size, others sizes are also available upon request.

Carbon dots are a proper luminiscence nanomaterial in order to obtain fluorescence labelled biomolecules.

Gold nanoparticles:

Amine pegylated gold nanoparticles, Carboxyl pegylated gold nanoparticles, Lipoic acid gold nanoparticles, Conjugated metallic nanoparticles, Gold Nanoparticles

Superparamagnetic nanoparticles:

Superparamagnetic nanoparticles offers 20 nm superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) which are oleic acid capped, dispersed in toluene. SPIONs could be employed in numerous applications due to their excellent properties. Some of the potential applications are magnetic storage, drug delivery, biosensing, magnetic separation, contrast reagent for bioimaging, lateral flow magneto-immunoassay

Silver nanoparticles:

Tannic acid capped silver nanoparticles from Nanovex Biotechnologies are prepared according to the adapted reduction method. They could be employed in numerous applications due to their excellent properties. Some of the potential applications of silver nanoparticles are conjugate, biosensors, conductive applications, Western blot/dot blot, nanotoxicology, surface enhance raman spectroscopy, antibacterial applications, dark field microscopy.

Transfectosomes:

Transfectosomes is a new and highly effective transfection reagent based on nanovesicles and developed by Nanovex Biotechnologies. Transfectosome is easy to use providing superior and reproducible transfection with minimal cytotoxicity. It forms stable complex nanovesicles with DNA and rapidly releases the DNA into the cells by endocytosis. Transfectosome has a great profitability carrying out until 650 transfections with 1 ml.

PLGA nanoparticles:

Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) is one of the most successfully developed biodegradable polymers. PLGA is a biocompatible, biodegradable and safely administrable polymer approved by the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and EMA (European Medicines Agency). Nanovex Biotechnologies provides plain polymeric biodegradable nanoparticles (Nps) based on poly (lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) acid terminated with a lactide/glycolide ratio of 50/50 and a molecular weight of 32000 Da. There are different types of PLGA nanoparticles so that the clients can select the nanoparticle that best suits their needs nanoparticles. In addition, these nanoparticles can be externally functionalized with different compounds (NH2+, PEI, proteins,…). PLGA nanoparticles are available in various sizes of 50, 100 and 200nm.

SEC Columns:

The Nanovex-SEC5K allows quick and economical purifications (protein, nanovesicle or nucleic acid) with exclusion limits of 5,000 Daltons (components larger than 5,000 Daltons eluted with void volume). The Nanovex-SEC5K columns are shipped containing ultrapure water/ethanol (20% v/v ethanol) as a preservative.

Practice Nanoencapsulation Kit:

Practice Nanoencapsulation kit to nanoencapsulate fluorecein into nanovesicles and to determine entrapment efficiency. The kit is composed by: Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC) Column, Pronanosome (Product to form nanovesicles), Fluorescein solution (100 μM)
