Background
bovine serum albumin (BSA) is used as a blocking agent during Western blotting to reduce background and non-specific binding. BSA can also be used in other protocols that involve antibody binding including ELISA, DELFIA, flow cytometry and immunofluorescence/immunocytochemistry.
