NUDT4 regulates the turnover of diphosphoinositol polyphosphates. The turnover of these high- energy diphosphoinositol polyphosphates represents a molecular switching activity with important regulatory consequences. Molecular switching by diphosphoinositol polyphosphates may contribute to regulating intracellular trafficking.
