Description
Potent, selective and cell-permeable inhibitor of MAP kinase kinase (also known as MAPK/ERK kinase or MEK kinase). Inhibits phosphorylation of MAP kinase by MAP kinase kinase. PD 98059 does not inhibit MAP kinase itself. IC50 values for PD 98059-induced effects are in the 1-20uM range for many assays; it is somewhat weaker in inhibiting cell growth in monolayers or agar for some cell lines.

Solubility:
Soluble in DMSO.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with DMSO. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Shelf Life
1 year
