Human NEK2 (GenBank Accession No. NM_002497), full length with N-terminal HIS6 tag, MW 53kD, expressed in an Baculovirus infected Sf9 cell expression system.

Application: useful for the study of enzyme kinetics, screening inhibitors, and selectivity profiling.

Source: Baculovirus infected Sf9 cells Formulated in: 25mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.0, 100mM NaCl, 0.05% Tween-20, 50% glycerol, 3mM DTT.

Storage and Stability:
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months.

Purity: ≥80% by SDS-PAGE.

Specific Activity: 100 U/mg. One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that will phosphorylate 1nmol of myelin basic protein (MBP) per minute at pH 7.4 and 30°C

Assay buffer: 50mM HEPES, pH 7.4, mM MgCl2, 3 mM MnCl2, 1mM DTT, 3uM Na-orthovanadate, 0.1 mM ATP, 4uM NEK2 substrate, and 0.2ug/ml NEK2.
