Introduction	Pramlintide acetate is a hormone that is released into the bloodstream, in a similar pattern as insulin. Pramlintide aids in the absorption of glucose by slowing gastric emptying, promoting satiety, and inhibiting inappropriate secretion of glucagon, a catabolic hormone that opposes the effects of insulin.
Description	Pramlintide Synthetic is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 37 amino acids, having a molecular mass of 3949.4 Dalton and a Molecular formula of C171H267N51O53S2.
Physical Appearance	Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Formulation	The protein was lyophilized with no additives.
Purity	Greater than 98.0% as determined by(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC. (b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.
Usage	ProSpec's products are furnished for LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. The product may not be used as drugs, agricultural or pesticidal products, food additives or household chemicals.
Storage	Lyophilized Pramlintide although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18C. Upon reconstitution Pramlintide should be stored at 4C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
