Description	Rubella Antigen. The predominant form of the Rubella antigen in this preparation is whole virions suspended in NTE with sucrose. Vero cells infected with Rubella release virus particles into the culture supernatant. Supernatant is harvested and clarified by microfiltration. The material is then concentrated 200 fold by crossflow ultrafiltration. The Rubella antigen is then purified by two stages of sucrose density gradient centrifugation. The antigen suspension is adjusted to ensure batch to batch reproducibility.
