Storage Conditions	The recombinant protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20°C. Reconstituted protein is stable for at least 3 months when stored in working aliquots with a carrier protein at -20°C. As with any protein, exposing the recombinant protein to repeated freeze / thaw cycles is not recommended. When working with proteins care should be taken to keep recombinant protein at a cool and stable temperature.
Biological Activity	Determined by its ability to stimulate the proliferation of mouse D10S cells. The expected ED50 is ≤ 0.05 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of ≥ 2 x 10⁷ units/mg.
Background	Human IL-33 is a proinflammatory protein that shares structural and functional characteristics with the IL-1 cytokine family. It binds and signals through the IL-1RL1/ST2 receptor, to activate NF-κB and MAP kinases. IL-33 induces production of TH2 cell related cytokines, including IL-4, IL-5 and IL-13, and exerts multiple inflammation related bioactivities. Recombinant Human IL-33 is a 17.9 kDa protein containing 159 amino acid residues.
