Description	Lay tests allow you to test for SARS-CoV-2 virus on your own in everyday life. At work, at home, or even in your private life, you can test yourself with a simplified sample collection. The Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM), together with the Paul-Ehrlich-Institute, checks the quality of the lay tests. If your self-test is positive, you should definitely have this result checked by a PCR test. This is because lay tests have a higher error rate than PCR tests.
