Information	Ferric citrate (Iron(III) citrate, Zerenex) is a Class 1 ferroptosis inducer and a safe, effective oral phosphate binder that increases iron stores and reduces the need for IV iron and erythropoiesis-stimulating agents while maintaining hemoglobin. It is approved for treating hyperphosphatemia in dialysis-dependent chronic kidney disease (CKD) and for iron deficiency anemia.
