Information
Cytidine 5′-triphosphate (Cytidine triphosphate; 5′-CTP) is a nucleoside triphosphate involved in the synthesis of nucleotides, nucleic acids, and lipids. It is produced from uridine 5′-triphosphate (UTP) by the enzyme CTP synthase. In Toxoplasma gondii, cytidine 5′-triphosphate is essential for pyrimidine biosynthesis, thereby supporting parasite growth and survival.
