Description	Ansamycin antibiotic. Intermediate of rifampicin. Selective inhibitor of bacterial DNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RNAP). Effective against mycobacteria and therefore used in research of tuberculosis, leprosy and Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) infections.
