Description: Costunolide also known as (+)-Costunolide, Costus lactone, CCRIS-6754 and NSC-106404 is a naturally occurring sesquiterpene compound with a wide spectrum of biological activities such as anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antidiabetic, antiviral, antimicrobial, antiulcer, antifungal, antioxidant, and anthelmintic properties. It was first isolated in Saussurea costus roots in 1960. Costunolide inhibits FPTase with IC50 of 20 uM, also inhibits telomerase with IC50 of 65-90 uM.
