Description: Cyclocytidine (formerly NSC-145668; Cyclo-C; NSC145668; Ancitabine) is a pyrimidine nucleoside-based prodrug of cytarabine that has to be activated through hydrolysis to cytarabine under in vivo conditions. It acts by inhibiting DNA synthesis and has been used for the treatment of leukemia. Structurally, Cyclocytidine is similar to deoxycytidine and thus can be incorporated into DNA and then kills cancer cells.
