Description	InvivoChem Cat #:V1864CAS #:89786-04-9Purity >=98% Description: Tazobactam (CL-298741; YTR-830H) is a beta-lactamase inhibitor with antibacterial activity. It also inhibits the class D oxacillinase OXA-2. It is used in combination with piperacillin and other beta-lactam antibiotics to broaden their spectrum and enhance their effect. Tazobactam is commonly used as its sodium salt, tazobactam sodium. Tazobactam is combined with the extended spectrum beta-lactam antibiotic piperacillin in the drug piperacillin/tazobactam, one of the preferred antibiotic treatments for nosocomial pneumonia caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
