Description: Ginsenoside Rh2, a naturally occuring steroid glycoside and an aldose reductase inhibitor isolated from plants of the genus Panax, is isolated from the root of Ginseng with diverse biological activities. Ginsenoside Rh2 can induce the activation of caspase-8 and caspase-9. Ginsenoside Rh2 induces cancer cell apoptosis in a multi-path manner. It also decreases ROS levels in keratinocytes, lowers levels of amyloid-beta in Alzheimer's disease models, induces beta-cell proliferation, inhibits osteoclastogenesis by suppressing RANKL-induced osteoclast differentiation.
