Biological Activity	Assay #1: Determined by its ability to chemoattract human T lymphocytes using a concentration of 1.0 - 10.0 ng/ml. Assay #2: Determined by its ability to chemoattract human iDCs using a concentration of 1.0 - 10.0 ng/ml.
Description	MIP-4 is a CC chemokine that is expressed in lymph nodes, lungs, placenta and bone marrow. MIP-4’s primary receptor is unknown. MIP-4 chemoattracts lymphocytes, and has been shown to exert activity on both CD4+and CD8+ T cells. Recombinant human MIP-4 is a 7.8 kDa protein containing 68 amino acid residues, including the four highly conserved cysteine residues present in CC chemokines.

Stability And Storage	For extended storage, it is recommended to further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein (example 0.1 % HSA or 0.1% BSA) and store in working aliquots at -20 °C to -80 °C. Lyophilized MIP-4 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -20 °C. Upon reconstitution MIP-4 can be stored at 4 °C between 2-7 days and for future use below -20 °C.
