This complex activates NF-kappa-B, MAPK, and other pathways, resembling the IL-1 system. IL-1RL2 is implicated in local inflammatory responses at epithelial barriers, particularly contributing to skin inflammatory reactions by inducing the IL-23/IL-17/IL-22 pathway.
