Description
Our Anti-Synapsin-1/3 mouse monoclonal primary antibody from NeuroMab is produced in-house from hybridoma clone L125/129. It detects human, mouse, and rat Synapsin-1/3, and is purified by Protein A chromatography. It is great for use in IHC, WB.
Target Description
The synapsin family of proteins are neuron specific phospho-proteins comprised of synapsins I, II and III. Synapsins I and II are abundantly expressed pre-synaptic proteins that play key roles in synaptic plasticity and synaptogenesis (Feng et al., 2002; Nayak et al., 1996). Synapsin III is the most recent member of the synapsin family to be indentified and is primarily expressed in extra-synaptic sites such as cell bodies and growth cones (Ferreira A. et al., 2000). Synapsin III is expressed at much lower levels than synapsin I and II in the adult brain and is therefore thought to be involved in early neural development (Kao HT, et al., 1998).
