Antibody against human polo kinase 1 (PLK1). PLK1 is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a pivotal role in regulating multiple stages of mitosis, including centrosome maturation, spindle assembly, chromosome segregation, and cytokinesis. Its activity is tightly controlled during the cell cycle, peaking during G2/M phase. Overexpression of PLK1 is frequently observed in various cancers and is associated with poor prognosis, making it an important target for anticancer therapy. Antibodies against PLK1 are used in studies of cell division, checkpoint control, and cancer progression.
