Programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) is a protein on the surface of cells that plays a role in the maintenance of self-tolerance. PD-1 promotes self-tolerance via the down-regulation of the immune system which results in the suppression of T cell inflammatory activity. PD-L1 and PD-L2 are the two ligands known to bind PD-1. PD-L1 has increased expression in several cancers.1 PD-L2 has a more limited expression and is primarily expressed by dendritic cells and only some tumor lines. This biosimilar antibody is aseptically packaged and formulated in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline (150 mM NaCl) PBS pH 7.2 - 7.4 with no carrier protein, potassium, calcium or preservatives added. Due to inherent biochemical properties of antibodies, certain products may be prone to precipitation over time. Precipitation may be removed by aseptic centrifugation and/or filtration.
