Description	LAR, an R2B/LAR receptor protein tyrosine phosphatase, is a developmentally regulated gene with complex alternative splicing isoforms. LAR is composed of an extracellular region with three immunoglobulin-like and eight fibronectin type III-like (FnIII) domains, and a cytoplasmic region containing two protein tyrosine phosphatase domains. It is associated with axonal outgrowth and guidance during neural development.
