Description of target
Exhibits calcium-dependent phospholipid and inositol polyphosphate binding properties (By similarity). May have a regulatory role in the membrane interactions during trafficking of synaptic vesicles at the active zone of the synapse (By similarity). Plays a role in dendrite formation by melanocytes (PubMed:23999003).|May have a regulatory role in the membrane interactions during trafficking of synaptic vesicles at the active zone of the synapse. It binds acidic phospholipids with a specificity that requires the presence of both an acidic head group and a diacyl backbone. A Ca(2+)-dependent interaction between synaptotagmin and putative receptors for activated protein kinase C has also been reported. It can bind to at least three additional proteins in a Ca(2+)-independent manner; these are neurexins, syntaxin and AP2. Plays a role in dendrite formation by melanocytes (PubMed:23999003).

Synaptotagmin-1|Synaptotagmin-2
Clonality
Polyclonal
Purification
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human Synaptotagmin.
Dilution
The optimal working dilution should be determined by the end user.
Manufacturer - Specificity
Synaptotagmin (Ab-202) antibody detects endogenous levels of total Synaptotagmin protein.
Formulation
Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
