Description
Prostaglandin E Receptor EP3 is a member of the Prostanoid Receptor subfamily. Along with several other receptor subtypes (EP1, EP2, and EP4), it mediates the diverse biological effects of Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). PGE2 has been implicated in numerous processes, including immune response modulation, male erectile function, induction of labor, cervical cancer, control of blood pressure, and asthma. Various isoforms are produced by alternative splicing.
Gene symbol
PTGER3
Reconstitution and storage
Short term 4C, long term aliquot and store at -20C, avoid freeze thaw cycles.
Purification
Affinity purified
Immunogen
PTGER3 / EP3 antibody was raised against human EP3 receptor amino acids 308-327 (NQTSVEHCKTHTEKQKECNF). Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Human, Gorilla, Gibbon, Marmoset (100%), Monkey, Bat, Panda, Horse (95%), Rabbit (90%), Elephant (85%), Bovine, Pig (80%).
Warning
For research use only.
Manufacturer - Specificity
The EP3 receptor appears to be expressed at low levels in many tissues and cell types, potentially making detection by immunochemical techniques difficult. Does not cross react with EP1, EP2 and EP4 receptors.
