Description of target	BCL2 gene encodes an integral outer mitochondrial membrane protein that blocks the apoptotic death of some cells such as lymphocytes. Constitutive expression of BCL2, such as in the case of translocation of BCL2 to Ig heavy chain locus, is thought to be the cause of follicular lymphoma. Two transcript variants, produced by alternate splicing, differ in their C-terminal ends.
Purification	BCL2 antibody was purified from mouse ascitic fluids by protein-G affinity chromatography.

Immunogen	The immunogen for anti-BCL2 antibody: anti-human BCL2 mAb, is derived from hybridization of mouse FO myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with recombinant human BCL2 amino acids 1-211 purified from E. coli.
