Reconstitution and storage
Store at 4C or at -20C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate, we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of dispatch.
Description of target
Alpha-lactalbumin forms the regulatory subunit of the lactose synthase complex, with beta 1, 4-galactosyltransferase forming the catalytic component. Lactose synthase catalyzes and regulates the biosynthesis of lactose in the lactating mammary gland. A folding variant of alpha-lactalbumin called HAMLET (human alpha-lactalbumin made lethal to tumor cells), has been shown to selectively kill tumor cells and control tumor progression in vivo.
Protein accession_num
NP_002280.1
Protein name
Alpha-lactalbumin
Clonality
Polyclonal
Immunogen
Lactalbumin from human milk
Homology
Reacts weakly with Bovine. Antibody reactivity and working conditions may vary between species.
Manufacturer - Specificity
Sheep anti Human lactalumbin antibody detects human alpha lactalubumin, a small Ca2+ binding protein, the predominant protein found in human milk.
