Description	Spinacine has been isolated from spinach and the roots of Panax ginseng. This conformationally constrained amino acid is a structural element in certain biologically active compounds as glucagon antagonists and angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Spinacine can be inserted as a His replacement with a locked imidazole moiety for elucidating the role of the lateral heterocycle in the activity of a peptide.
