Description	The leptin fragment SCSLPQTSGLQKPES-amide had the ability to mimic the effects of recombinant leptin on body weight and food intake in female ob/ob mice that lack endogenously circulating active leptin. Daily intraperitoneal administration of 1 mg of murine leptin (116-130) amide for 28 days caused a body weight loss of 3.4% (control +14.7%). Food intake was reduced by 15%.
