Manufacturer - Gene Name
TOP2A
Gene Full Name
DNA topoisomerase 2-alpha
Background
This monoclonal antibody recognizes a 170kDa protein, which is identified as topoisomerase II is also implicated in drug resistance of tumor cells and has been shown to be over-expressed in many human cancers. Decreased expression of Topo IIa is the predominant mechanism of resistance to several chemotherapeutic agents.
Immunogen
Recombinant human Topoisomerase II alpha fragment (aa1352-1493)
Contents
Prepared in 10mM PBS with 0.05% BSA & 0.05% azide. Also available WITHOUT BSA & azide at 1.0mg/ml.
Purification
200ug/ml of antibody purified from Bioreactor Concentrate by Protein A/G.
Concentration
Purified antibody with BSA and azide at 200ug/ml
Manufacturer - Research Category
Cancer, Chromosome Structure, DNA/RNA, DNA Synthesis, Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling
Protein Function
Control of topological states of DNA by transient breakage and subsequent rejoining of DNA strands. Topoisomerase II makes double-strand breaks. Essential during mitosis and meiosis for proper segregation of daughter chromosomes. May play a role in regulating the period length of ARNTL/BMAL1 transcriptional oscillation (By similarity).
Subcellular Localization
Nuclear
