Information	Sodium propionate (sodium propanoate), a short chain fatty acid, is a white crystalline salt derived from propionic acid with anti-inflammatory properties. Sodium propionate is used as a supplement in transgalactic-oligosaccharides (TOS) medium for the isolation of bifidobacteria and as a supplement in the SCFA (short-chain fatty acid) diet prepared for mice.
