Description	Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is a cytokine that functions in inflammation and the maturation of B-cells. IL-6 is primarily produced at sites of acute and chronic inflammation, where it is secreted into the serum and induces a transcriptional inflammatory response through Interleukin-6 Receptor alpha (IL6R). The functioning of IL-6 is implicated in a wide variety of inflammation-associated disease states, including susceptibility to diabetes mellitus and systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
Formulation	Liquid sterile filtered through a 0.22 um filter in PBS pH 7.2. Carrier and preservative free.
Immunogen	Purified recombinant rat IL-6
Purification	Purified from ascites by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Storage and Stability	Store at 2-4C for up to one month. For long term use, store in aliquots at -20C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
