42.0 kDa |
Description |
Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor (M-CSF) is a four alpha helical bundle cytokine that is the primary regulator of macrophage survival, proliferation and differentiation. M-CSF is also essential for the survival and proliferation of osteoclast progenitors. M-CSF also primes and enhances macrophage killing of tumor cells and microorganisms, regulates the release of cytokines and other inflammatory modulators from macrophages, and stimulates pinocytosis. As a result of glycosylation, the recombinant protein migrates with an apparent MW = 42.0 +/- 4.2 kDa in SDS-PAGE, a covalently linked homodimer, of two 21 kDa polypeptide monomers. |
Formulation |
Lyophilized from sterile filtered solution in 20 mM PB + 1% HSA + 3% Mannitol |
Reconstitution |
Centrifuge vial prior to opening to bring contents to bottom. Add sterile distilled water to a concentration of 0.1 mg/ml. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions. |
Specificity |
>3.3 x 105 IU/mg. |
Biological Activity |
ED50 is <3.0 ng/mL, determined by the dose-dependant stimulation of the proliferation of mouse M-NSF-60 cells. |
Endotoxin Level |
<1 EU/ug |
